AMNetwork is a mentoring program that creates a one-to-one connection between current student-athletes and former student-athletes (alumni) of the same sports team. The main purpose is to provide students with better opportunities at finding employment upon graduation by connecting them with alumni who are in position to help with finding a job or an internship. Pairings are based on students’ career interests – e.g. accounting student mentored by an accountant. Mentors provide personal and professional guidance. With the help of the University appointed person (such as coach) we monitor the progress ‘behind the curtain’ and help maintain the relationship, making sure they stay in touch. If necessary, we contact students and alumni to resolve any issues. The program benefits all involved parties. Athletes will gain access to the alumni, their knowledge, and their networks. Alumni will be able to reconnect with their team in a meaningful way. Coaches will acquire a great recruiting tool. Sports teams will achieve increased following and are likely to receive more donations. Athletic Department will have the ability to offer a comprehensive experience for athletes and will see greater alumni engagement
